These courses are currently in re-write. We know it has held a few of you up from getting Grade 1. I have read a proposal from the Assistant Director and agree to its terms. The proposal went as follows:
Operatives gets a pass on these two courses (see above). They can continue there Grade progression until these courses are released from re-write. At that time the operative Grade Progression will be placed on hold until the operative completes these two courses.
To keep track of who needs these two, the certification officers will record the person’s name and SCC # and contact them after the courses are released. If the operative does not complete the course then they cannot continue getting the higher Grade Levels.
I have informed the Certification Officers of their duties on this. I ask them to submit a spreadsheet to me and the Assistant Director of the operatives that need to take these courses.
I think this will make some operatives happy.
Director, STARFLEET Strategic Operations
There seems to be some confusion with the way the manual was written. Therefore I will state the way to earn this and there is no exceptions to it.
To get the award the following has to be completed:
A doctorate in Intelligence Operations
A doctorate in Special Operations
At least a masters in Military Studies
You cannot substitute a double doctorate for any of these. You have to have a single studies in each of the following to earn the award. Complete a doctorate in the single study of each of the above.

We have been working on an Awards Manual and have about got it ready. Be on the look out for the manual by 2015.
We are working on getting the nomination form on the web ready.
Now let me introduce a member that has stepped up to assist in the manuals and awards. Paul Dyl from Region 1 has been working with me on creating an Awards and a Uniform manual. He has worked hard and has earned the respect from the Deputy Director (Support) and myself. Paul has graciously stepped into the Assistant Deputy Director (Support) position to fill in on the manual set up. All manuals need to be submitted to him for review. Barry and he will review the manuals and make them match the same formatting. If a manual needs to be reviewed please email them and myself.
On another note, I have not heard from our newsletter and from what I have been told it is because no one was willing to submit articles to him. We need those articles to get the newsletter rolling. Tank Clark has done an excellent job on it and needs YOUR assistance. Get those articles in.
Reporting… I know you get tired of hearing about it. Reports are due by the first of each month. Pam and Tim are assisting Michael on compiling the reports to get them into me. I then have to submit them up to command. Intelligence Unit Reports and Reconnaissance Unit Reports need to go into Pam and Michael. The S.E.A.L.S. and Rangers Units reports need to go into Tim and Michael. Using the web-based form is the best possible way to make sure all involved gets the reports.If your team is not listed on the roster, it is possible we have not seen a report from you either never or after three failures to report.
I would need reports from Operations, Training, and Support as well as M.A.C.O. command by the 10th at the latest.
We are off to a wonderful group and it would be nice to see some role-playing missions within the units. Contact Deputy Director (Support) Jackson and he can let you know what to fill out and how to run a mission.

Reports are due by the 1st of every month.
I use the reports for multiple things. I have to send a report to STARFLEET Command, I have to verify the reports coming from my staff, and I have to see what each of you have done.
I would like to see the Team Leaders to send in a report where they have sent off request to the Training Department (email@example.com) requesting to have training verified. I also would like to see reports where people are requesting awards. Granted we only have two awards at this time. However, if an operative has the Doctorate of Intelligence Operations, Doctorate of Special Operations, and at least a Masters in Military Studies then the operative can get the highest award of the Gannet Brooks Award. However, I will not know if the reports are not sent in.
I am working on other awards. I have my staff working on manuals such as the awards manual, Uniform manual, SFSO manual, training manual, etc.
I also have enlisted assistance from a very good friend from the Academy to help revise the training manual. So be on the look out in the future for these.
I have talked with a few of my staff and have thought about the lowest award for the teams. Once we all agree then that will be an easy (sort of) award to get. But there again I need to see this in reports.
Therefore the word of the Day would be … REPORTS. Please turn them in on time. The DD(O) and I will be looking for them.

We are still alive and kicking. With the change in CS and the EC, SFSO is still moving forward. We report to the Chief of Staff, VCS.
Now with that being said, we need to get reports turned in on time from all teams. If you are on the roster, we expect to see a report. If you know someone that is on the roster, just give them a friendly nudge to see if they are sending in their reports. For us to survive, we need to get reports and prove that we want the SFSO. I do not want to be posting which units are not reporting but if I have to resort to that then I will. CWO Michael Denman is the new Deputy Director (Operations). He will be on the look out for those not reporting and will inform me.
Remember… unit reports are due to Michael on the 1st of every month.
Now onto something else that is in the works…
We have two ribbons that will start to be issued. There is the Admiral Forrest award for the command staff of SFSO. There is also the Gannett Brooks award for those that complete at least one side of the SFSO Training and have obtained the Doctorate of Special Operations, the Doctorate of Intelligence Operations, and at least the Masters of Military Studies. I am working with the Quartermaster trying to find the ribbons and will post them when we get them. I will have him post the pricing when we have them.
I need to here back from some folks on if we want to have a ribbon for completing at least one of the above SFA degrees. We are also looking into what the other 8 ribbons might be used for.
I am only going to allow for 11 Ribbons to be used and worn on the uniform. We will have an Award Manual after we get all the kinks worked out. With the SFSO, right now I am pushing for getting training done and service to SFSO. I will be looking for other options to.
Now for Charity…
We would like to do some charity work for the Wounded Warrior Project. I would also like to here some other suggestions from other Operatives. From what I have found out from the WWP is they accept donations. Maybe we can start a Walk-a-thon for the WWP and raise money to give to them. Let’s see what ideas and all that we come up with and let’s try to get something going.
